|
The High Pressure Crystal Growth Furnace, invented by the IFW Dresden, is equal to grow monocrystals by using a zone melting process under high pressure of 150 bar. The system was contrived by IFW scientists and exists as an prototype that already growed monocrystals in the IFW. It makes production of unique monocrystals and prospecting of attributes of so far unknown material mixtures possible. The system makes research possible to establish the basis for future technologic applications in various areas, e.g. battery technologies, intermetallic compounds or superconductors.
Special features:
- pressure range 10 - 150 bar
- temperatures in melting zone up to 3300 Kelvin
- pulling speed from 2cm/min up to 0,1mm/h
- patented in-situ measurement of the temperature
