ScIDre GmbH is developing a pioneering high‑pressure-oxygen Czochralski crystal‑growth system capable of operating at 1500 °C and oxygen pressures up to 100 bar. The aim is to enable the production of larger single crystals of novel compounds and to strengthen the crucial interface between fundamental research and application‑oriented material development.

A preceding simulation study confirmed the basic feasibility of the concept, while also showing that the targeted combination of temperature and oxygen pressure lies close to the limits of what is achievable. With extensive experience in special‑purpose machinery and scientific instrumentation, ScIDre is well positioned to tackle this challenge.

The project is supported by the Free State of Saxony and co‑funded by the European Union, both of which have a strong tradition of advancing the boundaries of engineering and materials science. Our project fits squarely within this innovation landscape. The planned system will feature a modular design and integrate state‑of‑the‑art technologies to expand the accessible pressure range and process‑gas composition, enabling a significant leap beyond current capabilities, particularly in maximum temperature and pure oxygen pressure. ScIDre is highly motivated to realize this ambitious development and bring a forward‑looking crystal‑growth apparatus to market. The project aims to deliver a next‑generation scientific instrument that unites established Czochralski methods with innovative high‑pressure-oxygen technology to open new pathways in materials research.
